Data Deletion

Customers can disconnect Meta Ads or Google Ads at any time in the datakant dashboard: open the property's settings, switch to the Ad platforms tab, and use Disconnect on the connected platform's card. Disconnecting an integration revokes datakant's future access to the advertising account and immediately and permanently deletes the stored OAuth credentials (access and refresh tokens).

You can also revoke datakant's access on the platform side at any time: on Facebook under Settings & Privacy → Settings → Business Integrations, or in your Google Account under Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services. When Meta notifies us that the app was removed, the stored credentials are invalidated as well.

Disconnecting an integration does not automatically delete reporting data that was already imported into datakant — it is kept so historical reports stay intact. Customers may request deletion of previously imported advertising data at any time by contacting privacy@datakant.ai. Requests are processed according to our privacy policy and applicable legal retention requirements, and are completed within 30 days.

You can permanently delete your entire datakant account at any time from Account Settings. Account deletion cascades across all properties, analytics data, advertising connections, and imported campaign data, as described in our privacy policy.

If you are a visitor of a website that uses datakant and want analytics data about you deleted, please contact the website owner — they are the data controller for that data.

Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 7 days after deletion. Backups rotate automatically on a 7-day retention cycle, after which deleted data is removed from backups as well. Backups are used exclusively for disaster recovery; if a backup ever has to be restored, deletions are re-applied.
